Banbury, Oxfordshire UK

We are staying at Bridge Farm Lake and Fishery, close to a tiny village, Chacombe, not far from Banbury. There’s 4 other properties, each with their own private bit of the lake. Should we so wish we could fish in said lake, but only using kit that will not harm the fish as they go back in the lake, so not for the barbecue! Tell you what, let’s just soak in the hot tub and leave these slippery beauties in peace!

The best railway tunnel we’ve ever stayed in!
Oooo hot tub awaits…….

Neat kitchen and nice high stools!

Nearby Banbury…..”Ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross To see a fine lady upon a white horse, With rings on her fingers and bells on her toes She shall have music wherever she goes” here’s Banbury Cross “

Amazing day so we have a barbecue, a novelty for us Northerners who endure endless unreliable weather. We have two patios here at Bridge Lake Farm and Fishery but the rear one seems to more fit the bill for chilling under the parasol.

The Privy Garden at Kenilworth Castle, developed by Robert Dudley for visits by his treasured Queen Elizabeth I in the 16th century.
These stunning sculptures represent historical and mythological figures, portrayed as animals, and are the work of award-winning artist Lindsey Mendick.
Her collection, entitled Wicked Game, has been brought to Kenilworth Castle by English Heritage to mark the 450th anniversary of Elizabeth I’s 19-day visit in 1575.
